Bollocks

Well its May already and it looks like the big plan failed.

I'm sick of this rubbish. Things are always failing.

One thing I can rely on though is myself, and my spirit. If you don't give up, you'll find something eventually. And I did.

I'm working in film production now and am going to concerntrate on my career and Forex/stocks trading. That's it. Sorry about the rest of the opportunities but fuck it, really. If I don't focus on something, I'll never be a master. And I don't want to end up a Jack.

In the face of defeat

It seems that whatever I tried so far has failed me. Maybe its because I didn't push my self further, or maybe because I didn't do enough. But seriously, the market is quite saturated for internet marketing now, only when new products are launch will there be the hype around it.

Well all is not lost yet, I am currently trying something out, something really BIG. I shall return to write in a couple of months to tell you if it works.

My aim: $10,000 a month by June 09.

5 Reasons Why Blogging is the New Internet Marketing Tool

Blogging is a concept that started in late 90s. It used to be a way to comment an existing webpage, an opportunity for visitors and readers to react or voice out one’s opinion on the said page. What started as a single-sentence commentary has evolved into pages of personal take on just about anything and everything under the sun. As it continues to move forward, online advertising has tapped into the blog’s potential. Here are 5 reasons why you should use blogging as an Internet marketing tool.

1.Blogging is simple. The simplest way to get your piece on the net is through blogging. No skills are necessary… an average adult can read and type, or at least click a mouse. It’s like having a virtual piece of paper and you just write your ideas, experiences, new products, and hope that the truth behind your articles comes out and entice your reader to also try your product. If you have a PC and an Internet connection (who doesn’t?) then you can blog and advertise.

2. Blogging is authentic. In this day and age where advertising saturate our lives, we question the credibility of promoters’ claims. However, in blogs, real people share their real-life experiences, unscathed by paid advertising. Reading blogs about first-hand product use is like talking to people about their first-hand experience. You definitely want to buy a tried and tested product.

3. Blogging is free. Because blogging is yet to be proven as a mainstream online advertising media, most sites see it as something to augment current marketing tools and thus offer it for free. Any opportunity for free webtime is definitely a bonus especially to businesses that are starting up. Needless to say, paid blog pages can generate more income for your seriously growing business.

4. Blogging builds credibility. As you get more and more into writing your experiences on a particular product or industry, your readers come to realize that they can depend on your posts for their own information needs. As such, you become an expert on it; as a consequence, more readers visit your site and more bloggers link to your blogs. As companies and professional organizations notice the growth of your readership base, they may soon get in touch with you for advertising on your blog page, or make you an affiliate, which pays for every referral generated from your blog site.

5. Blogging builds your market. Unless you are a Hollywood star, chances are, only your Mom reads your posts. Mom has a lot of friends, so she lets her friends know how interesting your blog site is. But you need not depend on Mom to increase your readership base. Look into the following ways to build your market through blogging:

-By using your e-mail. Today, blogging is overcoming the e-mail’s popularity in quickly and effectively reaching and expanding a market. In this age of speed and quick access, logging in and downloading e-mail is simply taking longer than clicking into a blog site. Let them explore your site by using a short e-mail message as teaser to your blog site. If your e-mail is on an entirely different subject, use your e-mail signature to give a link to the site.

-By using subscription. An easy way to get your readers e-mail is to give them an opportunity to subscribe to your blogsite. Keep some exclusive information for your subscribers to entice readers to subscribe and give their e-mail address. Just be responsible in using their e-mail address, as the last thing you want is a comment on your blog that you are a spammer.

-By understanding your readers. Conduct a simple survey for your readers to understand their profile and advertising preferences. Ask consumers to give you feedback on a post, an ad link, or a trial that you shared. In this way, it is like interviewing your readers without the commitment and intrusion of a face-to-face interview.

-By joining a blog network –A network of blogs maybe a collection of blog sites that share the same industry, interest, readership base, payment mode, etc. Consumers find credibility and convenience in clicking one link to several real bloggers about a single subject. Clearly, more bloggers are better than one.

-By using RSS. RSS is the fastest growing technology on the Internet today. As such, having RSS feeds to your blog is definitely another means of generating awareness for your readership base. Having a variety of feeds can add interest to your blog site.

Give your business a boost by effectively using blogging as an Internet marketing tool.

Ways to earn money

So far I've been running the Ads on Adwords and been getting good clickthrough rates, that's what you want when posting ads. But I've only made that one sale so far, even after I came back from Genting for a weekend getaway. I have to be patient and try to push it further..

So what are the ways to earn money? Ever since we were kids, primary or secondary, ITE or Polytechnics, these education systems don't really emphasize on being financially free do they? I mean we were always taught to follow our forefathers in studying very hard, getting a degree and doing well in the proposed profession like a doctor or lawyer. Yes these people earn about 5 - 10k a month, but is it enough? When can they retire without having to worry about money?

For years now, I've always thought life would be so much more enjoyable if we didn't have to worry about our next bill to pay, whether we can eat proper and still have a shelther over our heads. So I'm thinking, there must be a better way.

1) The first way is you follow the government's education system and blissfully study half your life away, get a job which promises stability but you'll probably be working till 62 before you can peacefully retire. With current inflation rates of over 7%, you would probably need 1 million dollars to retire comfortably, some people even say that figure is not enough.

2) If you've heard of the cashflow quadrant by Robert Kiyosaki, you can also be self employed. Now god knows what this means. How do you be self employed? Do you start a company and work your ass off for years. This seems to be linked with the next one.

3) Do a business. Easier said than done in most cases, somewhere around 90% of business close in the first year or so. There is a lot of leg work involved, and if not ready to open your mind and learn, then it will be hard. There are many kinds of business' nowadays and people are turning to internet business and MLM's to succeed, all of which requires hard work to be successful.

4) Strike 4D, Toto or Singapore Sweep. Seriously, only one in a million strike it big, but you never know when you could be the next millionaire here.

5) Invest. This seems like the best way to earn with the least amount of effort. But then again, you have the most to lose as well. There are so many forms of investing, and trust me, it's better than putting your money in the bank with their 0.something interest rates. Just don't get your hands burnt and set aside an amount that you can lose.

Day 7 & 8

Today is the 8th day of my online business and I'm very glad to say that..

I've made ONE sale!!

Ok techinically it was on friday, but hey, its better than nothing right? I've never made a sale before from any clickbank product so this is definitely a plus point for me.

I've been following the instructions carefully, so if there is anyone who happens to buy the system through here and is having problems, I'll be glad to answer any doubts at jackie_cjw@hotmail.com

Basically for the past week I've been doing article marketing, free classifieds, visiting forums, lots of email marketing, paid advertising in the form of Adwords and spreading the word on the product. So far I've spent $15 on Adwords and made a commission of over $30, so that's a 100% return.

The system is quite foolproof with all the instructions given step-by-step in the ebook, and if you still have problems, fear not because you will be recieving two sets of instructions, one from Irene Lim herself and one from the direct source!

So if you want to be successful in online marketing, you have to take a step forward and make a change. It's worth a shot at extra income and you may well be surprised by the results. Afterall, do you really wanna work for someone all your life??

So make a change with this!

Day 5 & 6

Ok basically, it gets pretty standard from here.

What I've done so far is do email marketing, sending out to my contacts list and asked around for contacts. The whole idea in the ad is to arouse the interest of the viewers and click on the link and let the website do the selling for you.

My Adwords campaign has been running for a few days but it has not been very successful. So with a little tweaking today, after a few mins it has over a thousand impressions. It is now working in the sense that it is getting clicked on and getting a small CTR(click through rate). The only thing is I don't know if it is targeting the right target market. I've given a budget of $5 a day for it.

So right now, I've done pretty much everything they told me to, so its just a matter of time, i hope, before i start earning. Fingers crossed..

Day 3 & 4

You must be wondering why these two days are put together? That's because there wasn't much to do on day 3, but I just got instructions so there's a lot of things to do today.

The story so far is I signed up for the ebook through Irene Lim, who promised a FREE website and help along the way. And so far so good, she has kept her end of the bargain. She's a fellow Singaporean who made it in the internet marketing world. So if you want to check it out, you can at this SITE!

It is better to go through her because of the free site and instructions along the way. Day 3, 4 and 5 is all about fine tuning your Adwords campaign and website.

So lets see what I've done so far:

1) Sign up for clickbank
2) Got the website issue out of the way
3) Set up Adwords campaign

Problems:
The main problem for Google Adwords campaign is that the keywords are too overpriced and the market has been saturated. All the keywords that have to do with 'money' cost a minimum of $8. The thing is Google is the number 1 site in the world and is really easy to use, but I will have to look for alternatives like Yahoo or MSN.

Right now I have to generate traffic by several means:

1) Submit articles to free article sites
2) Viral ebook forwarding
3) Email Marketing
4) Forum Marketing

These free methods require patience because it will take some time to see results. All the methods are in the book so if you want to know more, you've got to buy it!
